Temporary Residence:
- Duration: Tenancy is usually temporary and subject to the terms of the lease agreement.
- Example: Mark rents a flat for a one-year lease. After the lease expires, he may choose to renew, move out, or negotiate new terms with the flat owner.
Can the flat owner and tenant lives in same flat?
Yes, it is entirely possible for the flat owner and the tenant to live in the same flat under certain circumstances. Here are a few scenarios where this might occur:
- Owner-Occupied Rental Property:
- The flat owner may choose to rent out one or more rooms or units within their own flat while continuing to live in the same property. This is common in situations where the owner has extra space and wishes to generate rental income without vacating the premises.
- Example: Sarah owns a three-bedroom flat. She decides to rent out one of the bedrooms to a tenant while continuing to live in the other two bedrooms. In this scenario, Sarah is both the flat owner and a co-resident with the tenant.
- Multiple Tenants in the Same Flat:
- In larger flats or apartments, the owner might rent out individual rooms or portions of the property to different tenants. In this case, the flat owner might live in one part of the flat while renting out the remaining space.
- Example: Tom owns a duplex with separate entrances for each floor. He lives in the upper floor and rents out the lower floor to a tenant. While they share the same property, they have distinct living spaces.
- Shared Housing with the Owner:
- Some property owners choose to live in shared housing situations, where they rent out rooms to tenants while cohabiting in the same flat. This is often seen in arrangements where common areas like the kitchen and living room are shared.
- Example: Jessica owns a large flat with several bedrooms. She decides to rent out the spare rooms to individual tenants while sharing the common areas. Jessica and the tenants have separate bedrooms but share the living space.

⚠️ How do I change the primary owner on the MyGate app ?
Only owners can delete or add another owner or a tenant from the app. Also, the admins can change the owners from the dashboard.
If you want to change the primary owner then you have to contact the Management Committee and make the changes.

Let’s say, A Flat Owner has a account for his flat Number A100.
I searched for same society and request for same flat as a owner.
Admin got a request and Accepted it. Now i have full access.
Problem: Any one can request for and has a chance to be accepted.
Question: But then How the co owner or other member or owner family of that apartment can request ?
